Soggy Saturday

Rain Rain go away, come again on a working day, 'cause little Jony wants to play.

Unable to go outside we decided to have a game of Chess

and bake warm toasty bread for lunch...

... Four hours later we found this lump!

So after such a disappointing first attempt we got some new yeast from mum and tried again.

Another four hours later... Success!

But by that time it was way passed lunch.

Lucky for us, Chase doesn't get stir crazy if he cant go outside,

he is used to it (mummy has been a bit of a vampire over winter).

All said and done, we are very grateful for the rain and know it is needed everywhere.

We had a beautiful day just spending time together.

A day in the park...

Forget Santa because Stephannie is coming to town!!!

Regular life stops when my sister comes to visit, we neglect our regular patterns and routines and spend as much time with her and the kids as possible.

This time Stephannie came with gifts of matching skirts for the girls and shorts for the boys... (Last time She had made me a nappy bag and the cutest little knitted beanie for Chase when he was born.)

How sweet she is to spend all that time making all the clothes for the kids,

not to mention how clever!

All that was left, was for us to try and take a nice shot of the 6 cousins which only validated claims of how challenging child photography really is all being 3yrs and under... Lachlan escaped the quickest...

...followed by Malachi which resulted in this cute shot of him!

Lachlan kept Chloe's hands full during the photo as she tried her hardest to hold him back while he was busily trying to get away and explore...

As soon as we arrived these two Triffies had their hands full.

Serena and Chase, 4 and 6 months always seem to find each others hands, which we think is great, unfortunately they were both so overtired that photographs of them are few.

Mamar and Max came down to be with us as this all took place the day Stephannie was leaving. Which was nice as she was able to nurse Chase as he slept.

Dust hits Sydney

Scarlett woke up on her daily routine to get crying Chase from his cot. On this particular morning she found a very abnormal sky we both thought it might have been bush fire smoke, it wasn't until we turned on the Tv we learned that it was a dust storm...

So naturally we took out the camera.

Winter Birthdays

We have had so many birthdays the past few months from Serena's birth to Dad's 60th.

From a casual barbie at the park to a very formal 15th.

The nice thing about a big family is that every month there's at least one birthday giving us an excuse to get together and have some Fun!

Happy Father's Day

What would a first father's day be without some hand or footprints... I decided on feet because I can't stop chase from playing and grabbing at anything, I'm sure he would have been eating the tie by the end of it!

Although Jony didn't get a surprise on Sunday morning because I needed some help to keep everything still, we both were able to enjoy Chase's curiosity and watch how fasinated he was just wiggleing his little toes in the paint the whole time.

I can't wait for him to be at an age where he is able to paint himself... he is going to love it!

We were lucky enough to get a photo with Grandma at our Father's Day picnic, first time using the remote control... I think we need some more practice.

He still has plenty of energy to play with the kids even if it is only one handed.

As always this one looks sweet even with messy hair.

Chase and Serena seem to love being together. I hope they still do when they are older!

And one last family shot for the afternoon... it is not the best but the only one Dad sent me (since they were taken on my his camera).

Later that night we had FHE with Jony's side where we were able to see Dad/Lelo and also take a few cute shots of Jeshua.

A Little about Chase in the last 4 months

Chase is now 4 months old and it is hard to believe how fast time has gone and how much our little Chase has grown and changed.

Chase was a content baby from birth and began smiling at 5 weeks...

He hasn't stopped smiling since!

Because he has never been a good sleeper during the day, I feel as though we were able to bond well right from the beginning due to all the time we were spending together.

Although it is hard some days when he won't let me leave him, his generally happy personality makes it so much easier! (I can't wait for the time to come where he finds something else more interesting than me so I can get something done during the day, but I also know that when that time comes I will miss being his everything!)

Mario's Birthday BBQ

'My style' of parenting is just that, whatever works for us and at the moment it seems to be attached at the hip. Although a routine sounds fantastic... We sway towards more of the 'attachment' style parenting. In saying that he has an approximate bed time at night and does sleep in his bassinet for his first sleep and thankfully doesn't object to often. Chase has never been much of a crier but rather an emotional talker and communicates well when he needs something and being my first, he has never had to wait long either. I've read and listened to methods and advice from others and have taken it all in but when it come down to it I just do what feels right and natural. We both seem pretty comfortable with how we get on during the day and I think that is the most important thing! (He is gradually becoming more independent and until then I'm happy just knowing he feels safe and loved.)

Despite having quite alot of chest and neck strength from birth, Chase only lasts a few minutes on tummy time... Before he learnt how to bring his arms forward for himself he would just lie there looking like a sky-diver...

He is always watching everything, so interested in all that is going on around him despite being in our living room day after day.

He pays particular attention to us when we are eating and his little mouth starts copying us to the point where I feel bad eating in front of him, as though I am teasing him... so

we decided to try some mush out on him...

(I think all the movement is a result of mamar rubbing oil on his head only seconds before.)

He loved his food from the word go, he opened his mouth for every spoonful and although a few times the food came out he managed to get most of it down... with no funny faces!

So far he is not fussy, lets hope it stays that way.

He loves his bath time... Which is great as he is a really "chucky baby" and although he doesn't look chubby he does have a double chin and a few rolls in places I'm glad I don't!

Chase is truly a joy in our lives, he is a wonderful baby and his little personality which becomes more and more prominent each day is just beautiful. I love being with him and am so blessed to be a part of and witness his growth. I love being a stay at home mum... I'm there for every caca to every laugh, I don't miss a thing!
